Welcome

Add a welcome video describing the structure of the course here.

Welcome to the Introduction to Teaching Online course. This 5 week, non-credit course provides you with a foundation for effective online teaching.

At the end of this course you will have clearly defined your online course outcomes and objectives and selected appropriate assessment strategies and learning activities which are aligned with them.

You will be guided by the Understanding by Design framework and considerations for the online context to help you complete your Backward planning template.

Since this course is mostly asynchronous we will be collaborating and engaging through discussion boards. There are three synchronous sessions built in, where we can connect. Additionally there are opportunities for you to attend weekly drop in sessions which are accessible through Zoom within Canvas.

There are 5 modules in total. Each module should take two hours to complete and has:

  • a discussion board for you to share your experiences
  • learning materials for you to go through and activities for you to complete
  • assignments

The last module is where you get to share your reflections with the rest of the class.

I look forward to working with you all.
